Intense Heatwave: All Schools and Colleges Closed under Two Ministries

During Heatwave institutions closed for seven days

Starting from Sunday, April 21st, a 7-day heat alert has been issued for all educational institutions across the country. Therefore, educational institutions will reopen on Sunday, April 28th. If the heat alert escalates further, it may be necessary to extend the holidays. The situation depends entirely on the current heatwave.

Despite receiving heat alert notices from the Ministry of Education, so far, no notice has been issued for the closure of any university due to this situation. However, students may still wonder why universities haven’t received closure notices while schools have. The Meteorological Department has issued a 72-hour heat alert. According to the Meteorological Department’s notice, the next three days will experience intense heat across the country. Therefore, the Health Department is taking all necessary measures to deal with this situation.

Until further notice from the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, all educational institutions in the country will remain closed. They have notified that all educational institutions will remain closed until April 27th. Not only schools, but government primary schools, schools under the Shishu Kalyan Trust, and learning centers of the Informal Education Bureau will also remain closed.
